As the saying goes, be good to your battery and it will be good to you. Or something like that.
Here is a very brief video published by CNET on how to extend your battery life on your drone. Old hat for most of you but always good to review.
- Take care of your battery. Store in a cool dry place when not in use.
- Batteries don’t really like water, if your battery and connectors get wet, dry then off as best you can put them in a open space to fully dry.
- Make sure that you charge your battery a few hours before you want to fly the drone. If you have a choice of charging settings and have the time, use the lower charging rate as it is better for your battery.
- Remove from the charger when fully charged. Don’t leave your battery hanging out in the charger for months on end. Batteries don’t like it.
- Wind increases the strain on your battery so if you can fly on a calm day if you want longer flight time.
- If you don’t need it take it off. Doing a strip tease on your drone to remove things like prop guards will reduce the weight and increase your flight time.
- Never fully drain your battery.
- If you need more time, buy more batteries.
Good luck and have a long safe flight. May your batteries last one minute longer than your best video ever.
